The Simple Things

I find myself liking the simple things in life more and more. When I look back on life...it is always the simple family get togethers, the golf outings, playing card games, cooking out, sitting around the table talking, fishing, swimming, and the life sharing that goes on in my family that really stands out in my mind. I really do not know how any family today could stand to be without these things. During the summer we have engaged in all of the activities at one time or another; and each time I come away with a refreshed.....renewed feeling that keeps me going for weeks. I am fortunate to have people on both sides of the family that enjoy these things. You can do the same types of things with close friends also. We are all social beings that need this type of inter-action with each other.....whether we want to admit it or not! My family has inter-acted like this as far back as I can remember. We are always looking for ways to make families better and stronger, able to communicate with each other, and able to have successful relationships with each other.....well, I believe this is certainly a great place to start. The more you do these types of things the stronger you become as a family unit. It truly is the simple little things in life that tend to make all the difference. If you're not doing these things.....you know you should be!!!

The family unit is an important part of American culture. We need to get back to having a strong family unit and then maybe we want have so many grown up shit bags.

My mother passed away last year around this time. I lost my father about 4 years ago. I really miss the simple things with them, like going over and sharing a meal or just picking up the phone to give them a call.
