To Be Content With Life
Almost 32 years ago I left home to make my way in life...seek my fortune...broaden my horizons...make my name in the world. You have so many dreams and ambitions when you are young...so many directions you may go...so many new experiences and ideas; and you think you have so much time to accomplish the things you want to accomplish! I have learned a few things in all these years that have passed since I went out into the world...picked up on a few of the more important facets of life. We spend so much time looking away...towards the future...what we will do tomorrow, next month, next year, or five years from now...that today seems to get lost in the shuffle of it all! I believe that you have to learn to be content with what you have today...because when today is gone...it is gone forever! You have to be content with the small things. Seek elegance rather than luxury, and refinement rather than fashion. You need to respect yourself and feel like your are worthy of others respect. I want to be wealthy in family, loved ones, and friends...this is more important to me than the riches the world has to offer. I believe in thinking quietly, talking gently, and acting frankly and with purpose. I believe it is more important to listen than to talk! Listen with your heart and mind open....and your mouth closed! Don't Gossip! A lie can travel around the world...while the truth is still putting on it's shoes! Try to do all bravely, wait for proper occasions, and never be in a hurry. Let your spiritual side come through almost unconsciously...and smile...Life is good and everyday above the ground is a good day!!! Slow down and enjoy all the small things that most people ignore! Your Life should be a Symphony.....Not a Fricken Rock Concert!!!

Tony, your post today has really hit home with me. This has ministered to me and all I can say is thank you. We do get caught up in the rat race and forget what is of real importance to us!
Our families, children, friends, they are the true treasures in life.
I have learned these things over the years. Sometimes they are not easy lessons to learn.
What has you reflecting? You have to be reviewing your life for some reason. These things are all good, but you have to stay in the race to be a success. Go, fight, win, this is the way I've always done it. Family & Friends are for the birds. Ha.
mynossle you are such a tool. You missed the whole point. What a moron.
Some good advice Tony.
Very good. You write well. Love this blog.
This is 9-11 and I always think of my family on this day. My Uncle died there. Family is so important.
